Low-cost implementation of sand mat construction alternatives! Simple preliminary design considerations can be made.
We would like to introduce a case where a high-pressure horizontal drainage material was proposed as an alternative method to the sand mat used in PBD construction. In this project, it was necessary to implement a fill height of approximately 12 meters on soft ground, and consolidation settlement of the soft ground was anticipated. Therefore, we proposed the high-pressure horizontal drainage material "Public Drain" as an alternative to the sand mat. By using Public Drain, it became possible to significantly reduce the direct construction costs initially planned for the sand mat. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - It was necessary to implement a fill height of approximately 12 meters on soft ground, and consolidation settlement of the soft ground was anticipated. ■Results - Direct construction costs for the initially planned sand mat were significantly reduced. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
